"Passion"

I'm always asked what qualities a prospective fighter pilot should definitely have. My answer is: Passion! It is the inner attitude, the “attitude”, that in most cases makes the difference between success and failure. The selection process is strict, the training is long and hard and everyday working life requires many concessions. Long days, daily risks, physical and mental exhaustion... But if you love this job, if you have the necessary passion, you won't have to work a single day of your life. For me, every single flight is a great privilege. The responsibility, the impressions, the experiences... All of this leaves no doubt that every deprivation was and is absolutely worth it.
