"Fuel"

Droppable additional tanks found their way into military aviation early on, but the "SFTs" (Supersonic Fuel Tanks) no longer have much in common with their tinny ancestors. Although they each hold approx. 750kg/1000l of kerosene, they can withstand all the forces that the EUROFIGHTER has to offer. Load multiples of up to 9G and high supersonic speeds are no problem for the SFTs. In addition, the tanks with their internal pumps integrate seamlessly into the aircraft's fuel system, can also be refilled in the air and can be blown off including the load carrier in an emergency. A well-rehearsed maintenance crew is able to remove and attach the tanks in a short time and thus create the required configuration: One tank can be carried at the lower fuselage station, two tanks at the wing stations or three tanks in combination.
